The Art

This online gallery features my recent work. In the Painting space, you'll find oil painting on canvas. The visuals speak for themselves. If interested in finding out more about any specific painting, please feel free to ask. Paintings can be commissioned by request.

On the Sculpture page, you'll find wire sculputres made entirely by hand. Cold metal is manipulated to create seemingly organic beings. These lively figures offer the semblance of people displaying efforts to stretch their own physical limits, or, someties, caught in ordinary acts of everyday life.

In the Jewelry room, you'll find a sampling of my handmade chain-maille pieces. Chain-maille is an ancient technique through which hand cut coil rings are woven together. The metal patterning practice was originally utilized to create armour for soldiers in the 3rd century BC. The pieces take days if not weeks to create. Melding an ancient technqiue with a modern functunality, the intricate process finds its everyday usage rewarding and enjoyable to witness. An homage to the intricacy and care of ancient times, these jewelry pieces bring forward contemporary sensibility. Like the sculptures, each is unique, but this metal art distinguishes itself further in its wearability.

The Artist

An architect by trade, I have spent the past decade re-emerging myself in the pursuit of exploring how form and function meet. While studying architecture I originally took an interest in watercolour and ceramics, before moving into other practices. Later, and upon a prolonged period of reflection, I returned to art first through a practice of appreciation of the chainmail technique of jewelry making, and next then through the related form of wire sculptures. More recently my interests continue to grow along these spiraling yet related paths, including an active practice of oil painting, and continued exploration of the possibilities of turning metal into lively forms.

I have lived throughout the US and Middle East and currently reside in Jordan. My pieces have been displayed in galleries internationally and I welcome inquiries for showings and regarding specific pieces.
